Marissa Emily Teves Cunha, of London, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the age of 27, following an aneurysm at LHSC Victoria Hospital. Her passing has brought profound sadness to her family and all those who held her dear. Although her life was far too short, the love she shared with those closest to her remains an important part of her memory, and her absence will be deeply felt by the people whose lives she touched.
Marissa was the cherished daughter of Katia Teves and Nelson Cunha, alongside Massiel, and the beloved sister of Alex Cunha. She was also a stepsister to York Manuel de Leon and a treasured granddaughter of Maria do Ceu Teves, the late Manuel Teves, Jose Cunha, and Maria de Olivio Cunha. Her extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, will remember her as an important part of their lives, holding close the memories and connections they shared.
One especially tender part of Marissa’s story was the companionship of Luna, her fluffy and faithful companion who brought love and comfort into her life. The bond between a person and a beloved pet can be a source of warmth in everyday life, making the absence felt in small, familiar moments. As her loved ones reflect on Marissa, those personal memories and the things that brought her happiness may offer some comfort through the grief.
Family and friends will have an opportunity to gather in remembrance of Marissa at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, located at 362 Waterloo Street in London. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 20, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Those wishing to honor her memory may also consider a donation to a charity of their choice, as suggested in the family’s obituary notice.
As Marissa’s loved ones face the difficult days ahead, may they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories that remain. No words can fully express the pain of losing someone so young, but the bonds of family, friendship, and love can help carry those who grieve. Marissa Emily Teves Cunha will be remembered with affection by the family and friends who loved her, and her memory will continue to hold a special place in their hearts.
